Without a doubt, let’s take a look at how my friend made a great birthday party for her daughter. Keep reading this article!
My goal for this party was to make it look nice but also not break my back. I was determined to make the most of what I already had so that I wouldn’t have to spend a lot of money on one-time purchases or store a lot more items. Surprisingly, it worked – almost everything from previous celebrations was reused!
I had a few huge artificial flowers that I’d bought for photoshoots for my shops a few years ago. They’d been sitting in the corner of my craft area for a while, so they were ideal for table décor. To fill in the gaps, I added a few huge tissue paper flowers.
In a mason jar, pretty pastel paper straws acted as extra utilitarian decorations:
The mini plants were made from galvanized tins I’d used for previous celebrations. I finished it off with some felt earth and false flower stalks.
I used some little silicone baking pots to produce edible dirt and tied silk flowers onto round suckers to make flowers “grow” from them:
I decided to make some model chocolate roses at the eleventh hour. I only had orange candy melts on hand, but it worked out well because the celebration plates had orange flowers on them.
I wanted to make our lunchtime buffet simple in terms of preparation, so we set up a sandwich-making station. I already had a flower-shaped platter for the meats and cheeses, as well as some flower-shaped nesting bowls for the rest of the preparations (which we use all the time for salads and chips).
To round out the meal, I made a pasta salad and a fruit salad. After the healthy items, there was plenty of room for the goodies.
Our kids love having a birthday party, but I didn’t have the ingredients on hand to make one myself. I discovered this floral one on Amazon for a suitable rate.
I worked with our local bakery to design this beautiful flower basket cake to go with everything else I’d put together: It held up great – the birthday girl, plus four teens, got I I had to give it some good whacks before all the candy fell out: They’ve always done fantastic work with cakes, and everyone adored the delectable buttercream flowers and false basket sides.
Everything was repurposed, with the exception of the cake, candy, paper plates, and piata, which kept things cheap and easy while still looking lovely. My daughter enjoyed her party so much that she has already expressed interest in having another flower garden party the following year. It’ll be considerably simpler next year if she does.
