If you’re having a backyard wedding and need some DIY wedding décor inspiration, you’ve come to the right place! I’ll be talking about my experience throwing a backyard wedding reception.
Making DIY wedding decorations may appear scary at first, but it’s one of the best ways to display your personality on your wedding day if you’re a creative person!
Wedding Decorations
I completely rebuilt the backyard from the ground up. We planted a lot of flowers that bloomed in February, took excellent care of the lawn, but most importantly, we made flower baskets and even dried rose petals from the garden for the bridesmaids to throw, which was a lovely touch.
My partner and I also had a ton of other entertaining ideas, ranging from smoke bombs to sparklers.
Our wedding had a rustic theme with a touch of glitz and glam. The pampas grass was used in the wedding decorations and flowers! One of the many advantages of a backyard wedding is that we may celebrate with our pets.
They complimented us on how lively our wedding was, with plenty of bright colors and a festival vibe. We had an awesome lady gang to take shots with because I had eight bridesmaids.
We were certain that we’d employ our imaginations to create a variety of DIY wedding decorations. For the wedding, we made so many incredible signs and decorations that it was truly one-of-a-kind.
Flower Arrangements
My favorite part of our wedding was the hand-dried hydrangeas in various shades of blue that we produced. It was utilized for bouquets, table decorations, and the handcrafted arch for their wedding ceremony, which linked everything together flawlessly.
In addition to the hydrangeas, I utilized toitoi, branches, and tree leaves to create a natural-boho type arch. Because of how lovely it is, I can’t believe it’s handcrafted.
My hubby and I enjoyed our first dance on the front lawn under festoon lights that they had sourced and strung themselves. A band was playing our favorite songs on the balcony, which further added to the warm, welcoming environment.
We turned our garage into a nightclub for the reception, complete with laser lights, a boom system, and even a smoke machine. To demonstrate how fantastic things turned out, here’s a comment from one of the wedding attendees… “I’d gladly pay to be a member of this club!!!”
If you enjoy partying till the wee hours of the morning, a DIY back garden wedding allows you to do just that with your reception guests.
